Fun Aunt Sarah

Things I learned from being a stand in Mom this weekend:
  1. If a little boy is naked, he will pee...... on everything
  2. Getting skittles when you go Potty is VERY rewarding no matter what the age.
  3. If it doesn't look like chicken nuggets, smell like chicken nuggets, or taste like chicken nuggets, just tell them its chicken nuggets and all will be ok.
  4. Chocolate milk is liquid gold.
  5. Does diaper rash ever stop?
  6. Who knew that watching the same episode 100 times in a row only made it better
  7. If you are willing to do it once be willing to do it 5 more times
  8. If mom aint happy, aint no body happy. WRONG. If the 3 year old aint happy, aint no body happy.
  9. "Please" and "thank you"s just melt your heart.
  10. Being a mom seems totally worth it. In the words of Michael "one day....."

This weekend, my sister in law went to see my Brother for their military ball. Wendy was nice enough to leave my nieces and nephew with my parents which gave me the opportunity to come and play with them. I just fell in love with these guys. My mom made me do a lot of tasks on my own so that I could put my skills to the test. This included holding. feeding, and rocking Grace, helping bathe all three of the kids, enticing a potty trainee into using the facilities and consoling any booboo that may occur. This is Grace, She is the cutest little baby. She looks annoyed after her bath but I promise she loved it.

I love this little one. Ofcourse she is mesmerized by the fan that is up above her.

My favorite part was her tushy.

Here is Poppy and what he did best. He was the designated Grace feeder.

Now meet Valor and Liberty. They sure do love their Nana. Even being fun Aunt Sarah, it was tough competition to see who could win their love the most. In the end, Nana won and thats how it should be. Valor was so good because you could just set some cars and blocks on the floor and he would go nuts for hours. Liberty, loved to do activities like dancing and pushing a stroller around. I had so much fun just getting to know them more and playing. These two were such a blast. They are way cute and I love them a lot.

Valor is starting to talk pretty well but man he can imitate the sound of a car like I have never heard. "Vroom Vroom"

This was my favorite picture I got from the weekend. Love you Mom!!! Thanks for the great weekend.

In other news,

Recently, Michael went out of town. He went to Pheonix on business which left me alone for about 5 days.Honestly, I love Michael but he is quite distracting. When he is home, all of my "to do lists" go out the window. I always just want to hang out with him. So, in honoring the fact that I get nothing done with him here, I decided to work up a storm while he was gone. Not only did I work my 40 hours in those 5 days, but I decided to paint out bedroom and basement.

I wanted our bedroom to turn out more of a taupe color but it came out a light brown. Either way, I think its very inviting. Our green curtains will now be moved to another room though, because the paint washes them out. I really enjoy the deep rich colors because it lets me pretend its not snowing outside and that my feet might actually be warm one day.

Onto the basement, Now don't be scared! This picture makes it look really dark down there. It is painted "cocoa" but it is perfect for the room size and purpose to watch movies and hang out.

From this angle, the windows lets in more light and you can see how it truly looks. Do not judge on the decor or lack there of. I DID only have 5 days. But now that all this hard work is done, I cant wait for the furniture, pictures, pillows, curtains and knick knacks to find their home down here. Oh and if you are asking about that wall on the right that still appears to be tan? don't ask, its the menace that will be taken care of.

Creeeeepy

This is what Michael and I woke up to today. As I walked through our kitchen, I thought it was snowing at first but then realized this is all fog. FOG. That big white thing is the sun. It was really creepy and I expected zombies to walk out of the fog at any moment. You better believed I locked my doors.
It got even creepier everyone!
If you look at our yard you can see frost ALL over our yard. Well do not be fooled. It was not frost. Those are all spider webs that appeared in our yard over night. GROSS. I cannot believe that there is a clan of spiders that over night can turn our yard and all of our neighbor's yards into massive webs. It was sick. Professor Michael ofcourse had a blast examining all of the webs and thinking it was way cool. I on the other hand thought this morning was spooky and gross and wanted to stay inside.
On a positive note, I spent a few days this week going to Moab for work. I know, I got paid for hiking. You better believe I earned every bit of it. It was dang hard. The worst part about being a counselor on these hikes is that you have to motivate and cannot complain and I am a complainer people so it was tempting. Honestly though, it was a lot of work but truly beautiful. It was a great trip and I had a lot of fun. Plus now my butt and legs look great :)

One More

Love is in the air this time of the year. This past weekend we went to Salt Lake City to see Michael's old roommate get sealed to his lovely bride. It was a beautiful day and the weather was perfect. Michael was so happy to get to see all of his friends from college. I doubt Michael will ever be able to replace the great friends he has made.

We also went to hit a bucket of balls this week. Originally, Michael was going with some of his friends and then last minute he invited me, the love of his life. I have never hit a golf ball besides for the purpose of playing putt-putt. It was quite an experience. Michael was pretty good.

I on the other hand, did not need a bucket of balls. about 4 balls would have lasted me the hour considering it took about 10 swings before I hit it. Lets watch shall we...

As you can see, I missed the little yellow ball that was right in front of me. It was just a lot of fun for Michael and I to get out and do something different.

Happy Golfing!!!

Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen

On Saturday we headed to Salt Lake for Michael's sister's sealing to Doran. We love these guys so much. We met Doran pretty early on and approved right away. They treat each other well and it was fun when we lived in Provo to see the two of them together.
Grandma rode with Michael and me to their sealing. We are so happy that she came with us because she is always joy. Plus, doesnt she just look fabulous in that red silk top? She was really excited to get a picture of herself infront of the temple.

All in all it was a beautiful day and we couldn't wait to see Jill and Doran.

Later that night, Jill had a reception. I loved how everything looked. There was an ice cream bar and brownie buffet. It was sooo delicious. The most exciting part was the candy bar that Michael's mother did. She is so talented and everything looked great.

Anniversary 2!

What we ended up doing to celebrate our anniversary was get our temple recommends. We got all gussied up but then realized no one was around to take our picture so we headed to the bathroom. Its akward but hey what else could we do. Since we went to work all day, we were ready for a relaxing night. We went to the Coppermill where we had our dinner after we were sealed on our wedding day. The Coppermill was empty that night so we had the room we were sat in for ourselves. It was great.

I ended up getting michael THE revolver of his dreams. For months he has been drooling over this thing. I set up a scavenger hunt all around our house once we got home so that he could hunt for his present. He ended up really getting into it and ran from clue to clue.

Here he is once he found it.....

One happy boy!

Yay Us!!!!
